The two stately historic buildings which are the home of The Inn at Montpelier were built in the early 1800's in Montpelier, Vermont. Both buildings are classically federal in design and as is typical of New England architecture, have been added to on several different occasions.

George Reynolds built this house in 1892 and it
remained in his family until 1995 when it was first
transformed into a local Bed and Breakfast.

Millbrook Country Inn & Restaurant is a classic cape-style farm house built by Jack Dana in the 1850's. He located his farmhouse close to his lumber and brick mills on the nearby Mill Brook. Today the mills are long gone and Millbrook Inn's picturesque setting is midway between the ski slopes and the village of Waitsfield on scenic Mill Brook Road (Route 17). Henry & Ginny Perkins purchased Millbrook Country Inn in 1948 from Jack Dana's estate and turned it into a bed and breakfast inn the same year that skiers first schussed the slopes of Mad River Glen. Since 1979, innkeepers Joan & Thom Gorman have maintained the renowned Vermont innkeeping tradition of personalized service in a friendly, unhurried atmosphere.
