The American Institute of Architects has listed it as the fourth modern architectural wonder, along with India's Taj Mahal and England's Parliament building. The American actor Brando Marlon, often described as the greatest of his generation, was born in Omaha the state's largest city nestled on the west bank of the Missouri River and offers marvellous riverfront views. Also, not far is the Fort Atkinson, the very first Military Post. At the Durham Western Heritage Museum you can learn all about the state’s prairie outpost history.
