If that’s not enough you can always admire The Blue Ridge Parkway, an area with hiking trails providing craggy gardens, picnic sites, bike trails, fishing, horseback riding and it also supports a nature center. These natural limestone caverns feature guided tours to admire spectacular stalactite and stalagmite formations. If you like gems, spend the day mining for sapphire, ruby, emerald, amethyst and topaz then try Emerald Village it’s like stepping back in time, or take a journey on Tweetsie railroad, a "blast from the past", is a historic 3 mile trip around the mountain on a steam locomotive where you can pan for gold, visit zoo animals or take in the beautiful mountain scenery.
