Take a scenic drive to Woodstock, perched along the edge of the Green Mountains, a village noted for its well-preserved homes and charming village green with traditional shops, pretty churches and voted as being the prettiest small town in America and is home to the well-known Woodstock Resort and Suicide Six Ski Hill.

Still in Woodstock, don’t forget to visit the Marsh Billings Rockefeller National Historic Park. Just north of Woodstock is Marsh-Billings the historic Billings/Rockefeller Farm and Estate where you’ll find some pleasant trails and carriage roads that are walking only for that stroll through the area's picturesque and gentle terrain. Set in a scenic location affording spectacular views, is Quechee and Quechee Gorge State Park is located next to one of the region's most visited attractions, pack a picnic lunch and hike the trails around the Gorge, a miniature Grand Canyon with a swift mountain stream that flows through the village.

You’ll enjoy the beauty and will find easy access to all the attractions from your bed and breakfast accommodation. Don’t miss the Toy and Train Museum that displays thousands of toys dating back to the beginning of toy making and features several model trains exhibits in a mountain settings. Spoken of in almost hallowed terms by experienced diehards, every peak has an easy way down, which is great if you are skiing in a group.

For intermediates, it promises loads of quality high mileage skiing and it is not uncommon to find yourself carving clean tracks through virgin snow. The views are fantastic with superb facilities for everybody and diversity for skiers of all abilities. At night it comes alive with the best nightlife in the East, the lively bars, restaurants and venues are a great draw. The only U.S. president born on the fourth of July and raised in Plymouth, Vermont, visit the home of the former President Calvin, the 30th president of the United States and enjoy day hikes at the Coolidge State Park. Fancy a game of golf with a mountain view as a backdrop? Golfers can test their skills on five golf courses throughout the region or maybe mini-golf is more to your pace. The Middlebury College golf course has it all, or in the city Vergennes area at the Basin Harbor Club, then onto Bristol, to dine in elegance, go on a picnic, or just sit in an Adirondack chair and watch the glorious sunset.
