Pearl Street in Netarts is where you’ll find our Oregon Coast Cabin. It is an old street that meanders along a bluff just above picturesque Netarts Bay - one of the Oregon Coast’s true hidden gems.
When you arrive you will smell the ocean and feel the salt air. This lovely private home is across the street from the water-all the access and spectacular views WITHOUT the "beachfront" rates! |

The home is rustic and built with the highest quality construction in every detail. It has three bedrooms, two full baths, and a 3-side wrap-around deck on the ground floor (with an outdoor shower and gas grill on the private rear deck). It is among the most cozy and inviting places you’re likely to visit. It is the perfect place for a family vacation or a romantic getaway. The inside has a glass-door wood-burning stoveand the entire interior is done in douglas fir, western red cedar, and pine. The exterior is shingled in white cedar. There is a sleeping loft above a cathedral-ceiling main living area. Upstairs, beyond the loft, you enter the hallway leading to the master bedroom with master bath next to it - there is a wonderful view of the water from the master bedroom. Then, another set of stairs leads up to a belvedere, a fully glassed in sitting area on the third floor. Covered benches here have a panoramic view of the bay and the ocean; they are perfect for snuggling up and reading or listening to music or the waves all day long, and the benches are also suitable for sleeping - our 12 year old daughter will not sleep anywhere else! From the belvedere, you can step out onto a deck with the same spectacular view of the water - it is breathtaking to watch the sunsets.

The cabin is right across the street from Netarts Bay, and there is immediate access to the bay and ocean beaches. One of our favorite things to do is to hike on the beach to the town of Oceanside (about a 40 minute walk north) to have dinner at Rosanna’s Cafe; come share our enthusiasm!
ACTIVITIES & ATTRACTIONS

Netarts Bay is located at the origin of Cape lookout, one of 3 magnificent Orregon State Parks and one of the well known 'Three Capes' of the Three Capes Scenic Area: Cape Lookout State Park - just to the south end of Netarts bay, this spectacular cape extends miles into the pacific ocean and is ideal for hiking, whale watching (in season), beach-combing and hang-gliding. Cape Kiwanda State Park - a little further to the south is Cape Kiwanda, near pacific City. This area is famous for its fishing fleet of dories that are launched directly into the surf. Cape Mears State Park - just to the north of Netarts Bay are Tillamook Bay and Cape Mears. Cape Mears is known for its historic lighthouse and the “Octopus Tree” as well as sweeping views of the ocean. - Fishing & crabbing paradise
There's nearly always something in season, from bright Fall chinook salmon returning to the coastal rivers, to spring salmon, to steelhead in the winter by driftboat, to sturgeon and silver salmon in the Columbia river - we can connect you with wonderful local guides if you want to fish. If you'd like to smoke some of your catch, we are glad to provide detailed instructions and let you use the family's smoker - few things are more healthy or delicious than home-smoked fish! If you want to go after dungeness crab in the bay, or clams (when the tides are right), it is a simple matter to rent a small boat and all the gear you need just down the street at the Marina - they'll even clean and cook the crabs for you if you'd like. Making home made clam chowder is a treat our family really enjoys. The bay has a variety of clams - all that's needed are the will, a few simple tools (which are at the cabin) and a minus tide - consult the tide tables before booking if this is import
- Mountains, Skiing & Golf
The Oregon coast is not a 'golf or skiing destination' usually. However, there are golf courses available and resorts with courses are being built along the coast to Lincoln Ciity (a bit more 'built-up' than Netarts Bay). Also, the potential visitor interested in golf or the mountains & skiing should note tthat Central Oregon (the Bend-Redmond area) is indeed a golfer's and skiier's paradise. A trip to our cabin could be easily plannned to include a stop in Central Oregon for golfing or skiing or a stop at Mt Hood (google Timberline Lodge) for spring/summer skiing followed by a trip to our place on the coast. Interestingly, Central Oregon's climate is entirely different from the Willamette Valley(Portland, Salem, Eugene areas) or the Coast. Central Oregon is high desert with sagebrush and is sunny about 350 days a year!
