The romantic Hartwell House Inn, a 16-room inn and conference center, is located in the quaint town of Ogunquit, Maine. Open year-round and within easy reach of Boston (1-1/2 hours) and New York City (5 hours), the inn and conference center are a short walk from the beach, shopping and diverse four-season activities.

Perched just one block from southern Maine’s rocky coastline, the Inn is convenient to great shopping, "Antique Alley" in Wells, York and Kennebunk, lobster as well as fine dining, sandy beaches, whale watching, fishing, the Ogunquit Playhouse and more. The 120 outlet shops in Kittery are a 20-minute drive... and Freeport, home to the famous LL Bean factory store, is a one-hour drive.

The Marginal Way, a 1-1/4 mile scenic foot path that borders Ogunquit’s rugged coastline, is accessible year-round just minutes from the Inn. Guests can leave their car at the Inn and walk to restaurants and shops in the sweet village of Ogunquit or to Perkins Cove for boating, fishing, boutiques and waterfront dining.

The Inn’s 16 traditional guest rooms, suites and studios are furnished with Early American or English pine antiques and offer queen or king bed, air conditioning and private bath. Some have deck, kitchenette and/or sitting room … ideal for a honeymoon or weekly vacation rental.

The dedicated conference and function center located across the street is beautifully appointed with executive board room and a conference room accommodating 12 to 75.

The Hartwell House Inn is a romantic site for small off-season catered weddings, celebrations and private parties. Seating up to 38 can be accommodated in the Bistro, or groups up to 100 can be hosted under a tent on the Inn's expansive lawn. For elegant dinner parties, the conference center comfortably seats 12-14 guests.

POLICIES:

· Rates are for single or double occupancy and include gourmet breakfast and afternoon tea and sweets.

· 7% Maine tax will be added to all rates.

· The Hartwell House Inn serves as an intimate, romantic setting for adults who wish to relax. Children 14 years of age and older are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult in their accommodation for the reservation period.

· Holiday and summer weekends: 2-night minimum stay required.
(President’s Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, New Year’s Eve)

· All major credit cards accepted.

DEPOSITS AND CANCELLATIONS:

A deposit equal to one-half the entire amount (or minimum of one-night) is required to confirm a reservation. The balance is due upon arrival. In the event of cancellation with less than two weeks’ notice, deposit is non-refundable. With over 14 days notice deposit is refundable less a $25.00 processing fee. Guests are responsible for payment in full of reserved dates, despite late arrivals or early departures.

· Check-in Time: from 3-7:00 p.m. (or by prior arrangement)

· Check-out Time: promptly by 11:00 a.m.

· Late Check-outs: A later than normal check-out is sometimes available. There is a nominal fee ($25 - $75) for any late check-out, but it is not available during holidays or when another guest is checking into your room. A late check-out can only be confirmed after 6:00 pm the night before your departure.

· Sorry, no pets.

· The inn is a non-smoking environment.
