Our guesthouses are beautiful and offer much more privacy than most B&B's. This is a small B&B/Guesthouse near Charlottesville, Virginia 20 minutes to Jefferson's Monticello, Madison's Montpelier and the University of Virginia. It is a peaceful and quiet retreat in the forest of the Southwest Mountains of "Piedmont" Virginia. You frequently see whitetail deer and wild turkeys at dawn and dusk right from where you sit in front of the fire. |

Prices
We have three guesthouses you may stay in at A Guesthouse in the Clouds.
Extra guests More than the number of people listed above in the "Included" column the cost is $25/night/person
Children qualify as extra guests if they are over three or four years old and use the beds; if they sleep in a crib, they aren't. (It's all about the sheets)
Extended Stay for 7 plus nights is the 2nd+ week-night price per night.
Week nights are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. If you reserve one or more of these nights, you pay for one week-night for each week-night you reserve.
Weekends are Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There is a two-night minimum on weekends
The Weekend Price is the price for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. We don't book only Friday night or only Saturday night or only Sunday night. Actually, if you book Friday & Saturday nights only, we will block off Sunday also on the calendar, as we don't want that night to appear "available." This prevents people from thinking it is available and trying to book the Sunday night. This is because the maid doesn't work on Sunday, so the room just stays messy until she gets here on Monday to begin cleaning up. If you book the "Weekend", you are welcome to stay on Sunday night also. Please don't write or call and ask what the price is if you don't stay all three nights on the weekend as it makes no difference.
Cancellations: Your payment (minus a $25.00 processing fee plus the 3% credit card fee above $25 if applicable) will be refunded to you up until ten days before your arrival date if you cancel. If you cancel 10 days or fewer before your arrival date, your payment will not be refunded. This applies to any and all cancellations, including if you choose not to come because of weather conditions. If we cancel your reservation, your payment will be refunded in full. |

WEEKEND SPECIAL: Make a reservation any time begining the previous Wednesday until the weekend in question for an upcoming weekend, and get a 50% off rate. (Please mention that you are asking for this discount when you make the reservation.)
FALL WEEKDAY SPECIAL: In the fall months, we are currently offering 20% off on all of our accomodations during the week, that is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. Just ask for this when you send in a reservarion request. |

We have four separate accommodations or houses on the mountain top at Guesthouse in the Clouds. All have private baths, queen-size beds, hair dryers, and clothes irons and ironing boards. All except the Annex Suite have complete kitchens. All of the beds are made, the sheets are ironed and there are towels and washcloths in the bathrooms. There is heat and A/C. There is a hot tub in the Bath House available for all to use. |

This is a guesthouse and breakfast is not served, but you can prepare it yourself. Each of the houses has a complete kitchen, so you may prepare not only your breakfast, but any other meals you choose to. The beds are made and we leave some essentials in the kitchen such as coffee, sugar, tea, and there is plenty of flatware, cookware and dishes; also plenty of towels and washcloths. There is a gas grill by the pool. There is a breakfast place about ten minutes away in Stony Point, and of course, Charlottesville is fifteen minutes. There is no daily maid service after you arrive, that is, you need to keep your house cleaned up yourself.
The Lodge: The Lodge is a 1, 500 sq. ft house next to the swimming pool. There are two bedrooms and two baths in this house with a very large cathedral-ceiling living room with windows on three sides, couches, a fireplace in the living room, a complete kitchen (including dishwasher) and a dining area. It is well suited for two couples. Both bedrooms have a "Queen" sized bed. One of the "bedrooms" is actually a suite with two adjoining (via a French door) bedrooms and one bath. One of these bedrooms has a Queen bed, the other two single beds. The bath in the larger bedroom has a shower stall and a whirlpool tub. The suite or adjoining smaller rooms have a tub/shower in the bath. This house is beautifully furnished with very nice family antiques, paintings and furniture.
The Cottage: The Cottage is a separate house off the pool next to the Lodge, but separate from it. It is quite private, very quiet and is a comfortable size for a couple (800 sq. ft.) It has a large living room with a fireplace at one end and a complete kitchen at the other and the furniture includes a fold-out queen sofa. |
