Lindsborg, Kansas located in the Smoky Valley of central Kansas is also know as "Little Sweden". Lindsborg offers unique shopping including Swedish imports, art galleries, and specialty shops The McPherson County Old Mill Museum across from Heritage Square and the Swedish Pavilion in south Lindsborg. This wonderful museum captures much of the history of the Lindsborg area.The Sandzen Gallery with the beautiful collection of artwork by the late artist Birger Sandzen and other exhibits. A number of smaller art galleries and working studios exhibit a wide range of media. The Messiah Festival of Music and Art (Easter Week) is the most widely known community event featuring Handel's "Messiah" and Bach's "St. Matthew's Passion". Maxwell Wildlife Refuge offers tours every weekend starting on Memorial Day and continuing through October. This is your best chance to see the prairie, buffalo and elk up close and personal. McPherson State Fishing Lake lies on the refuge's west border. The refuge is located within 30 miles of Lindsborg. |
