"Built in the early 1800’s as a private residence and transformed into an inn with breath taking views from every room in the late 1960’s the 1740 House offers an escape from the every day grind.
Located on the banks of the historic Delaware River in a village unchanged by time, the 1740 House welcomes weary-of-the-world travelers with warmth and serenity. Unwind as you watch the river wind past your patio or balconies or from pool side. Or let the day meander by as you explore the many pleasures of Bucks County.
Our 23 spacious accommodations express Bucks County style, with quaint folk art, toile wall coverings and four post beds.
The 1740 House offers the comforts of a first-class hotel with the ambiance of a small country inn. The Main House consists of the original living room with wood burning stone fireplace for lounging on a cold winter’s day.
Adjacent to the living area is our dining room which overlooks the Delaware River as you enjoy your morning breakfast. Weather permitting have breakfast on the patio.
Our new addition to the 1740 House is the bar room for enjoying a drink with friends or with your loved one.
Our Patio and Pool area is not surpassed by any other facility along the river. Sitting poolside enjoy the sun, take a dip in the pool, sip a cool drink and watch the river roll by.

All 23 guestrooms have either a Balcony or Terrace with views of the tranquil Delaware River and Canal.

All 23 guestrooms have Private Baths, Televisions, Telephones, Terry Cloth Robes, and Heat/Air Conditioning.

Continental Breakfast is included with room rate.

Complimentary mountain bikes available for riding the tow path.

Swimming Pool & Patio

New Bar - Beer, Wine & Cocktails
Each guest room has been newly remodeled with beautiful furnishings and the most up-to-date amenities. All rooms have a private bathroom, televisions are tucked away in armoires handcrafted by a local woodworker, in-room telephones and Internet access in most of the rooms make it easy to communicate with the outside world, but most of our guests prefer communing with nature in one of our terry cloth robes from a comfortable chair overlooking the river"
