Wades Point Inn on the Bay is located just five miles from the old shipbuilding and sailing center of St. Michaels on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
Our 120 acres of fields and woodland provide a peaceful setting for recreation. Spot a bald eagle resting outside your window... or a hummingbird flit by while you read a book in a hammock or adirondack chair. Catch a fish or net a crab on our dock. Meet our Jack Russell terriers, and see our chickens, cows and goats quietly grazing. Walk or jog the mile-long nature trail through scenic pond, meadow and waterfront paths.
Swimming in the bay is delightful from spring until jellyfish season.
There are a wide variety of activities for everyone.
For the history buff, there are the quaint, historic villages and towns of St. Michaels, Easton, Tilghman Island, Oxford, Wye Mills, and many historic buildings, places and museums to explore.
For those who love touring, sightseeing, and recreational activities there are many boat cruises, sailing boats, restored authentic Skipjacks, fishing charters and power boats offering environmental or sightseeing tours of the Bay and nearby waters.
There's bicycling, kayaking, golf, bird watching or window shopping. Wonderful antique boutique and specialty shops.
Unique and seasonal festivals and events occur throughout the year, so inquire about dates.
From fine dining and elegant restaurants to steamed crabs and other regional seafood favorites at restaurants on the waters edge, all can be enjoyed in the nearby villages. Your only problem will be deciding which restaurant to choose.
Gathering at Wades Point Inn has been popular for over a century.
At the end of a long scenic country lane, Wades Point Inn welcomes you with its sprawling lawn, beautiful shade trees, balconies and screened porches. It was named for Zachary Wade who received the land grant in 1657.
In 1890, the Kemp family added facilities for summer guests and Wades Point Farm became a popular summer resort and guest house. It remained so for close to 100 years.
The present owners, Betsy and John Feiler, arrived in 1984 and in 1990, named the new annex, the "Mildred T. Kemp" guest house, for the gracious woman, "Miss Mildred", who managed the Inn for sixty-three years.
With its picturesque, historic setting the Inn is ideal for couples or families. Weddings, executive retreats, and seminars are also welcome.
The 80 acres of farmland is farmed organically as it was in the 1600's. Come and gather eggs from the 300 or so free-range chickens or watch the goats being milked.
Whether jogging, walking, or birdwatching, we hope you enjoy our nature trail. Please be careful on wet or uneven ground and stay on the road, trail or marked areas. Trails are marked.
Keep you eyes opened for; deer, rabbit, red fox, racoon, opossum, terrapin, bald eagle, great blue heron, dove, geese, swan, osprey and Chessie.
Wake up each morning in one of our special guest rooms ready and rested for the day ahead. The Wades P
