The beautiful Maryland State House lovingly restored with the memories of when General George Washington as Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army came before the Congress to resign his commission. Congress met in the Old Senate Chamber between the months of November 1783 to August 1784. It is the oldest state capitol still in continuous legislative use, construction begun in 1772 and wasn’t completed until 1779, the present dome replaced an earlier cupola and it is the oldest and largest wooden dome of its kind in the United States. The Pier Six Concert Pavilion is regarded by many as one of the most beautiful outdoor concert venues in the United States.
