Buck Creek State Park is located in Clark Co. about 48 miles west of Columbus, a pretty German village tucked in between farm fields, prairies and wetlands offering the visitor a range of interesting ethnic restaurants and good quality bed and breakfast in Ohio Central.

Within the park you can go hiking on the 7.5-mile nature trail, or you can indulge in horseback riding on the bridle trails. Swimming and sunbathing on a sandy beach are also available as are all types of boating from the marina, fishing can be enjoyed too from the shoreline or on the lake and hunting is permitted in designated areas. Columbus is where the very first gorilla was born in captivity, this exciting moment happened at the Zoo on December 22, 1956. Golfers, who like to tee up or watch the finest golfers championship, can do so at one of the several major PGA sanctioned tournaments one such being The Memorial that takes place at the end of May in Columbus.
