"Have you ever watched from the rustic porch of an historic farmhouse as the full moon sparkled across the lake? ...Especially with the mountains standing proudly in the distance? ...Or explored a traditional New England bed and breakfast (complete with original log timbers)? Have you ever found lodging in part of the Civil War era Underground Railroad? ...Or gone fishing or boating on Lake Champlain (our Alburg, VT inn even has its own boat dock)? Or followed its nearby bikeways, especially during Fall foliage season?
Have you ever stopped at a non smoking Vermont bed and breakfast for just a night or two accommodation ... and decided to stay for the rest of the week ... or a romantic weekend getaway? Ever wanted to ""take in"" the Green Mountains, yet still find easy travel to the Adirondacks from Alburg, VT and the Lake Champlain Islands? ...And perhaps even visit Montreal, Quebec?
Have you ever found a scenic starting point for your Fall foliage photo tour? ...And decided to come back the next Summer, as well?
Sometimes, when the light is just right and you hear a lark on the wind, our romantic bed and breakfast almost seems like something out of a storybook.
Yet it is real. Luxurious lawn so you can soak up the sun. Glorious shade on our farmer's porch. Spectacular views of Lake Champlain. An easy, comfortable drive to the Green Mountains.
Have you ever looked for Nessy? Well, you probably won't find the Lake Champlain monster Champ, (a.k.a. ""Champy"") either... 300 sightings since 1609, seven in 1997... but who knows?
As for the rest of it, though, this is definitely the place -- the Thomas Mott Homestead Bed and Breakfast on the Lake Champlain Islands, Alburg, VT. This non smoking New England inn is convenient to everywhere our guests want to go. ...Or not, since our home offers a romantic getaway weekend or vacation spot -- a country escape -- all on its own."

Gardens/arboretum
"Leaf Peeping from mid September through mid October is fantastic. We have 40 miles of trail for biking and hiking. Great at any time of year, this territory is especially beautiful in the Autumn. It's maintained by local organizations and is only 1/2 mile from The Thomas-Mott.

Are you into air sports? Paraflying, Skydiving, and Paragliding are available at the local Franklin County Airport.

Maybe that's a bit much for today, How about a little peace and quiet? Some of our guests like to simply read a good book. For that, our gazebo is perfect. A few birds chirping, a gentle breeze, a little shade. ...Yeah...!

Or did you ever watch the Milky Way on a dark and moonless night while the waves lap gently beneath you? We have a 75 foot private dock on the shore of Lake Champlain. Here you can sun, swim, fish, or even snorkel (bring your own gear). We also have a canoe, bicycles and paddleboat for guest use. There are kayaks to rent close by...

Map to Champlain Islands' Attractions.

Do you enjoy the beauty and majesty of Lipizzan Stallions? The famed Herrmann troupe is right nearby in much of July and August. When not performing, the barn is even open to the public.

The Missisquoi Nature Sanctuary is 4 miles away and provides trails for nature walks. You'll find good antique shopping on Rte 2. Don't miss our local country festivals throughout the summer...4th of July, etc.

The Shrine of St. Anne is located on Isle La Motte. St. Anne was the first settlement in Vermont, constructed in 1666. Guests may enjoy the picnic areas and the sandy beach where Samuel de Champlain first landed.

Apple orchards are open and apple festivals in progress throughout autumn.

Don't forget the complimentary Ben and Jerry's ice cream bars. "
