The Restaurant of High Meadows is a Virginia Wine Restaurant of the Year and a distinguished recipient of Gourmet Magazine's 2002 Restaurant Hall of Fame. An elegant dining experience in a casual setting.

Let us pamper you. Hot tubs, Jacuzzis, fireside bathing, twilight Virginia wine tasting with hors d'oeuvres, civil war trails, biking, hiking, James River Trips, skiing, horseback riding, antique shopping, the Blue Ridge Mountains and historic Monticello, Ashlawn, and Michie Tavern.

Located on the horseshoe bend of the James River, High Meadows is a unique experience you will never forget.

One hundred years after the settlement of Scottsville, Virginia, surveyor Peter White (in 1832) built the Federalist portion of HIGH MEADOWS VINEYARD INN & RESTAURANT. Fifty years later (in 1882) businessman Charles Harris created the Victorian portion of the Inn.
In 1985 two modern day lovers of history, fine food, and nature planted a viniferous vineyard and commenced restoration of High Meadows as Scottsville's Country Inn - awaiting its guests' pleasure today.

Few Virginia Historic Landmarks are also full-service country inns. As one of these, High Meadows offers you the same richness of Federalist feeling and frivolity of Victoriana you would enjoy by touring companion historic landmarks such as Virginia's Monticello, Mt. Vernon, Montpelier, or Ashlawn. Yet, High Meadows allows you an opportunity to both lodge in and dine at one of North America's finest country inns. As Virginia's only Inn that combines its place on the National Register of Historic Homes with a renaissance farm vineyard (leading producer of Pinot Noir grape), High Meadows offers the discriminating guest a rare opportunity to look at both 170 years of architectural history and new, exciting years of viticultural happening.

The Inn's management today offers guests the same hospitality, service, and warmth which travelers have experienced almost twenty years - the hallmark of comfort and fine food, owned and operated by the Abbitt/Sushka and Farber/Storey team.
