The new Lighthouse Inn at Point Cabrillo, a unique and historical bed and breakfast (just north of Mendocino , California ) located in the beautifully restored, turn of the century, Head Lightkeepers House overlooking the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse and Light Station. The Inn is surrounded by a 300-acre Nature Preserve with breath taking views of the coastal bluffs, headlands, wildlife, and the excitingly moody Pacific Ocean.

The Inn features six period-furnished rooms (four in the Head Lightkeepers House and two handicapped accessible Garden Cottages) offering its guests a fascinating blend of romance, history, and tranquil privacy and comfort. Situated on coastal terraces, just 57 feet above the ocean's waves, the Inn 's rooms and amenities entice guests to unwind, relax, and enjoy the peacefulness of the Light Station's coastal grandeur.

The Lighthouse Inn at Point Cabrillo welcomes guests year-round. Room rates include a lovely, five-course gourmet breakfast each morning of your stay (a limited early bird breakfast is available upon request), check-in wine and hors d'ouvres, and a private night time tour of the Lighthouse with the Lightkeeper, but does not include county tax. Room rates may change without prior notice.

Single/double occupancy only (maximum of two people per room). A two-night minimum stay is required on weekends (Fri/Sat, Sat/Sun), and a three night minimum stay is required for holiday weekends.

To ease check-in/departures, full payment (including applicable taxes) are required at the time your reservation is confirmed. Reservations paid by personal checks will be confirm upon receipt of checks.

Check-in is between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. (early check-in cannot be accommodated; the Inn is located within a state park with day-use pedestrian access only). Guests arriving after six o'clock must make arrangements for room keys and orientation in advance.

As hard as it will be to leave, departure time is 11:00 a.m.

The Lighthouse Inn is designed and operated for an adult clientele seeking a tranquil atmosphere, and therefore not suitable for children under 15.

We love animals but they cannot be accommodated during your stay.

Cancellation policy: With 7-day notice (14 day notice for multiple rooms/holiday)refund less $25 service fee. Within 7 days of arrival (14 for multiple rooms/ holidays), refund if room is re-rented, less $25 service fee. Any cancellation must be confirmed by telephone contact with Inn staff.

All rooms have private bathroom, queen beds with luxurious linens, cozy sitting areas and private temperature controls. Whether your room overlooks the Nature Preserve, coastal headlands, or the Lightkeeper's gardens, all have ocean view.

Join us between 4:00 - 5:00 each afternoon for wine and hors d'ouvres, and then take a private night time tour of the Point Cabrillo Lighthouse (with unique views of the working 3rd Order Fresnel lens) with the current Lightkeeper. Later, while sitting on your private patio, listen the waves crash upon the headlands while watch millions of stars march and shoot across the majestic evening sky. During the day, guests can take quiet walks along the 3.5 miles of hiking trails of the Nature Preserve, or venture into Pottery Cove to find pieces of Chinese pottery still washing up from the historic Frolic shipwreck.

Each morning, while relaxing with organic, Lightkeeper's coffee or specialty teas, your senses will be awaken to the delectable aromas of freshly baked pastries, scones, or breads from the Keep's kitchen. These smells are only a prelude to a delicious and hearty five-course gourmet breakfast. Our chefs graciously adjust daily breakfast menus to meet our guest's dietary needs or restrictions. Although menus will vary with the seasons, our breakfasts are lovingly created for our guest and feature high-quality, organically grown products from our community's gardens, farms, and ranches.
